Why should you do a good deed today?

Be Selfish, Do a good deed today!

The act of being selfish has been misunderstood right from the beginning.  Why? Because, in nature, we have all seen that results for all our actions, are seen not in the short time, but in a longer span of time.

When we plant a mango sapling, we wait for 6 to 10 years before we can get a ripe fruit from it; similar is the  jack fruit tree and many other fruit bearing trees. For all our deposits, the banks give us interest on a yearly basis.

Similarly, it takes many years of smoking to see the detrimental effects on health due to the habit. When we get a loan from the bank, we know that we have to pay back with interest in the long term.

So, if you see, whatever actions we do, we get a similar result. When we give, we get. When we take, we have to return. 

It is clear now from this logic that whenever you do a good deed, the results are good in the long term.

All those not doing good deeds and keeping it all for themselves are actually being unselfish, even though they do not realise it.

When they realize that, they will become selfish and start doing good in the society. Because, they know that it is going to come back to them many times over.
