Regaining Our Past Glory!

The biggest and most dangerous mistake was probably the opening up of the skies (satellite tv) by the government.

This was done without any thought on the impact that it will make on the populace.

We have censorship for movies that we make time to go to a movie theatre and watch. We have the choice of determining whether to watch or not.

But, there is feed that comes into our living rooms anytime of the day on TV and that content is completely left to the will of its creators.

This is fresh content that we haven’t seen. So, if there is something that we would rather not see, we can only know about it after we have seen it. 

There is at least one comedian in India who became popular by calling mothers and fathers names in his so called comedy show on television. That is how crass we have become.

Life seems to have become just about making money, any which way you can.

And, every one of us is responsible for this.

Btw, how many of us follow traffic rules strictly? Haven’t you seen parents taking their children to school driving on the wrong side of the road? They don't realize their children and others are learning from them.

People seem to have become zombies. 

There is no thought put before our actions. We have started putting self before other. This is especially true in the case of the government. 

Until the basis of India and its culture, which is, care and respect for others, is revived again, we will not be able to breathe free.

There should ideally be discussions with the intellectuals of the country, not just in parliament, before any major decision is made. And, the Aadhaar project may probably end up as the biggest blunder made by the country, yet.

We treat the symptoms, not the cause.

The solution to make India regain our past glory is simple. Address the roots. Address the future.

We have to teach morals to our children before we teach the alphabets. 

• Let us teach our kids to respect others. 
• Let us teach our children to put others before self.
• Let us make the next generation understand that our freedom stops where we intrude on another’s freedom.
• Let the coming generations live in harmony with nature and in righteousness, which is the essence of our nation.

Till the above becomes true, India will still be chained, not truly FREE!
