What is the point of being good to anybody?

Nature follows a Give and Take policy

If you follow nature carefully, you will notice that everything follows the policy of give and take. That is how the system is designed. Nature always equalizes in time.

Since, we are also part of nature, we are also included in the works. The more we give, the more we get.

Everything in nature is tuned to respond with the same degree of emotion and quantity that we exhibit. Let us assume that we went to a restaurant for lunch. We get our food served, we eat, pay and leave. We give money and get food, end of scene.

But, if the staff were extremely courteous and helpful, brought in a baby chair for the child without asking, gave us personal service, we are impressed. And we discuss it among friends and the restaurant benefits by way of additional patronage.

If we are to assume the reverse, where the staff were rude, discourteous, delayed the food and grumbled about the tip being insufficient. We would discuss this with friends too, but the result would ultimately reflect on lesser patronage for the restaurant.

Bad things get more publicity

In fact, negatives things are discussed more, because bad things are remembered for a longer time. So, probably our friends would discuss it with other friends and in this age of social messaging, the news would easily become viral.

Morality is based on experience of the system. Our ancient spiritual masters knew that a good deed begets a good deed and vice versa.

The immediate effect that was discussed in the restaurant analogy may not always be true. In fact, most of the time, the action and the reaction times are much apart in time that we do not see the relation.

The action and reaction times may even span multiple life spans. This is a topic that needs many sessions to understand. Because, once a question is answered, many questions arise from it.

And so on… till this wonderful design of the Universe dawns upon us.
